GAUGE 3 Asbestos and Timber Lineside Hut
Description
Prefabs (prefabricated buildings) were a major part of the delivery plan to address the United Kingdom’s post–Second World War housing shortage. They were envisaged by war-time prime minister Winston Churchill in March 1944 and legally outlined in the Housing (Temporary Accommodation) Act 1944.
These Asbestos and timber huts were constructed for use on the railways during this period and were used by platelayers and for storing lamps.
This model is made from weather-resistant plastic (not resin) and can be used for indoor or outdoor railways. To make the most of your Brunel Model, please follow the safety guidelines and instructions carefully.
