Description
Eastbourne signal box is a Grade II listed building which features on the East Coastway Line in the south of England.
Built in 1882 with a 108 Lever frame, the signal box saw the ever-changing landscape of Eastbourne’s coast for holidaymakers. The lever-frame inside was later replaced with a 72-lever in 1934 before the entire building was changed into a power signal box in 1991. The signal box officially closed in 2015 due to the re-signalling of the line between Lewes and Bexhill.
